USA
Description:

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, roasty and complex. This Ageable Ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

World Wide debuted in the winter of 1999, and the staying power of this brew is undeniable. Like Fort and 120 Minute IPA, World Wide Stout only gets better with age (more on aging beers here). After some time in your beer cellar, the heat of the booze fades into the background and the port notes and roastiness take over. With 70 IBUs.

One dark rich beer for sure. This is the king of Stouts. Smooth, flavorful, and complex. Coffee, toffee, licorice, and brown sugar all evident. This is a sipping beer for sure best enjoyed in front of a fireplace. Not for the faint of heart. Drink slowly and enjoy. (1/24/20).

Hokie Hopstress

Too heavy for me.

Supply Sergeant

Its not Sam Adams Utopia but its better. Sweet dark rich motor oil. At 40 proof its not for everyone. A bottle is a nice way to share. A great beer. Tasted 12/15/2006 Tasted 1/9/2009 Tasted 1/24/2020

Herr O. Gant Basturd

nice bitter flavor, a little too sweet for my tastes (2006) deep dark color, mild head, sweet aroma, very sweet malt taste with a tart finish, very yummy (1/24/2020)

Chief Bottle Washer

Wow, much too sweet. Tastes like cough syrup to me. After this early tasting noted above, I re-tasted on 1/24/20 and this beer pours a deep brown/black color with a moderately heavy amount of tan colored head. Tasting notes include a very strong roasted malt flavor followed by a very strong alcohol taste. Notes of caramel and residual sweetness on the finish.
